Julia Hartmeyer is an architect and set designer based in Berlin. With a current focus on material theory in both built and natural environment, she operates at the intersection of architecture, scenography and artistic production. Her work fuses heritage with contemporary sensibilities, creating spaces that are not only functional but also emotionally resonant. Her practice often thrives on interdisciplinary collaboration, inter art, technology, and sustainable principles.
She holds academic qualifications from RWTH Aachen and University of Arts in Berlin. She has gained professional experience at Tanja Lincke Architekten, Bureau N, and Nick & Partner Architekten before she established herself as a freelance architect and set designer after graduation. Her work has been exhibited in the Neue Nationalgalerie, culterim gallery and the nGbk. As a set designer, she has been designing spatial concepts for fashion brands like Acronym, MSCHF and adidas running and has assisted on several productions for commercial campaigns, music videos and events.
